Five decades of inclusion, opportunity, and community.
Thank you to everyone--near and far--who helped us celebrate 50 years of success in connecting ability to opportunity, making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and serving our community!
The site now features Toolworks history, photos from our 50th at the Exploratorium, and a brand new video featuring some of our clients!
We hope you enjoy, and here's to another 50 years!

About Us
Toolworks is a nonprofit organization committed to inclusion, empowerment, and opportunity for all. For 50 years, we’ve supported people with disabilities and other barriers to employment by connecting them to meaningful work and community engagement.
As part of our mission, we partner with local businesses and public agencies across San Francisco to create paid job opportunities in janitorial services, landscaping, hospitality, and more. But our work goes beyond employment—we provide training, guidance, and long-term support that helps individuals build confidence, independence, and purpose.
We’re proud to be a nonprofit that believes in the potential of every person, working each day to create a more inclusive world—one job, one person, one success story at a time.

Toolworks In Action

Meet the 50 faces of Toolworks
To celebrate 50 years, Toolworks is launching a special project called “50 Faces of Toolworks.”
This series will highlight the amazing people behind our mission — from clients and staff to community partners. Each face tells a real story of strength, growth, and success made possible through Toolworks’s support.
You’ll meet individuals who’ve overcome big challenges, found independence, and built better lives through our programs.
Through these stories, we honor Toolworks’s lasting impact — from job training and housing to community support — and celebrate our continued promise to create opportunity, inclusion, and change.
